Taste of Anatolia – Films from Turkey

The Taste of Anatolia – Films from Turkey festival started in 2018. Sixty participants from the UK and Turkey came together in a common project called Reel Skills. Funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, the project brought together two communities to discuss the power of filmmaking regarding hate speech, bullying and human rights. Through a series of filmmaking, organisational and programming events over across the two cities of Muğla and Cambridge, a new idea emerged: the creation of a film festival. This resulted in Taste of Anatolia, a festival which prioritised films made by younger generations (or where the main cast is young) from across Turkey, with a dedicated section called “Young Blood”. The festival continues to focus on providing emerging filmmakers with screening opportunities and highlighting issues faced by young people, in addition to curating an event that reflects Anatolia’s many colours.

* Please note, some films from previous festivals will remain unavailable due to ongoing distribution agreements
